| EAA Chapter 1363 |
The Young Eagles program, chaired by actor and pilot Harrison Ford, was established
in 1992 and is a significant part of EAA, the world's largest recreational flying
organization. In the last 10 years, more than 35,000 EAA members have volunteered their
time and aircraft to provide free Young Eagles flights to over one million kids!
For more information, check out the national Young Eagles website:
www.youngeagles.org. The Ocean State Aviators will be conductin three Young Eagle Rallies on the following Sundays. May 4th, June 8th, and August 10th. The first two events will be held at the Quonset Air Museum at Quonset State Airport (KOQU), North Kingstown, RI. The August event will be held at North Central Airport (KSFZ), in Lincoln, RI.
This event provides an introduction to aviation for young people, ages 8-17,
culminating with a free airplane flight (weather permitting). You may also download a blank registration form,
to fill out and bring to the rally ( Adobe Acrobat Reader
required ). This will save time once you arrive at the airport. A signed registration
form is required for a child to participate in a Young Eagle Flight.
(Note: Forms will be available at the airport.) If you have any questions, please contact Al Myette at aero-al@cox.net, or Joel Rawson at joel.rawson@cox.net
The Quonset Air Museum
(Click for link to map and directions) will be open with free admission to
Young Eagles and their families during the Young Eagles Rally.
Participants will be able to visit the museum, learn about the basics of flight, and learn about pre-flight inspection and flight planning. Kids will then be introduced to an FAA licensed pilot volunteer who will take them for a short flight (weather permitting).
The entire adventure should take about an hour to an hour and a half to complete.
Note: Pre-registration is required, and kids will be signed up on a first-come,
first-served basis, so pre-register early! (

The rally will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and you can reserve a time slot for
your airplane ride on the pre-registration form. Please submit one form for each child who will be attending. Sorry, but we cannot allow parents to fly,
since we are trying to fly as many kids as possible.
